All booked! Now what?

Let's make some magic!

I’m so excited that you’ve booked your senior session with me. Now it’s time to start thinking about all of the things you need to do to prepare for your upcoming shoot.  Senior pictures are a big deal and you want everything to be perfect — so do I!  The more prepared you are for your session, the better.  Having everything mapped out ahead of time will allow us to focus on just one thing on the day of your session: capturing the real you.

There are several details that go into making your senior portrait experience successful.  Keep in mind, every element of the shoot should always be centered around your individuality and style. Because that’s what it is really about — showcasing who you are at this very moment.

Where to go?

I always shoot outdoors in natural light. This means that I’m not a slave to carrying bulky equipment and we won’t be shooting in the rain. (A major plus for the hair you just spent an hour styling!) The location of your shoot will set the mood and complete the overall look and feel of your pictures. When choosing the perfect place for your session, there are several things to consider about what a location might have to offer. To give you some ideas, I’ve broken down the location types to help you narrow down your selection.

What to Wear?

This is where you will have the most fun - choosing the perfect outfits for your shoot! Whenever a senior asks me what to wear during a session, I always have the same response: “Whatever makes you look and feel your very best!"

How you feel in the clothes you wear will translate in your pictures, so the more comfortable you are in them, the better. Choose items that you can easily move in and compliment your personal style. When planning your looks, don’t forget the details. Most of my seniors bring an extra look, just in case. Get creative with it!
